ABout the Ottawa black coalition (OBC)

Founded in the fall of 2024 with the support of the City of Ottawa, the Ottawa Black Coalition (OBC) brings together Black leaders to advocate for equity and justice. Rooted in Afrocentrism, our pillars align with the City of Ottawa’s Five-Year Anti-Racism Strategy, while also emphasizing education and justice. Through advocacy and collaboration, we combat anti-Black racism and amplify and empower Black voices.

To create a resilient, engaged and healthy Black community in Ottawa.

The Ottawa Black Coalition was established to provide coordinated, collaborative, and action-oriented advocacy that drives meaningful outcomes for Ottawa’s Black community. Our mission is to empower our community through collaboration, advocacy to enhance social empowerment and holistic well-being.
